My main interests are genealogy and history. Mostly in Southern California and the West. Most of my pages are connected to my family in some way, but I am happy to transfer them to closer relations and perhaps exchange genealogical information.

(I also added burials from the New Plainfield, CT, Cemetery based on a 1964 transcription combined with other records and will link them over time. Many of these are not relatives.)

Doing paper genealogy for years, finding specifically where people were buried was always a priority for me, since many of my family were dug up from removed Downtown cemeteries, cremated, and ashes stored for decades. Usually the grave space was neeeded for parking lots or football fields.

It's so nice to go to a graveyard in a small town and find very little changed, though most of the relatives have moved away and forgotten. Something this website addresses.

Y-STR DNA Testing has validated my paper Eaton genealogy back Jonas Eaton who left Old England for New in 1637. His great grandson, Capt. Joseph Eaton was the founder of the Plainfield, CT, Eatons.

Y-STR DNA Testing on a Hodge cousin has helped link several Hodge/Hodges families from New York and may someday break this brick wall.

Findagrave may eventually become a great resource for locating "Ancient DNA" for testing--just kidding!

Included in my memorials are some unrelated families of Curtis Hodges & Lucy Clark based on research I have done to sort out early Mormon families. Also family of Joseph H. Hodge is just a research interest on his son, William Alexander Hodge, who was a Civil War soldier.
