Bio

I was born in Union City, Pennsylvania in 1948, lived in Townville until 1962 when my family moved to Texas. I have been searching my family history for over 43 years and love learning more about my family. The more info we get out to the public, the easier it will be for those who come after us. I'm excited about this site, which is new to me, and hope to contribute my direct line as far back as I can. I have almost 12,000 names of my direct line and their families. I would like this information to be available to those "cousins" I don't even know, yet. John E. Sherman

"Lest they be forgotten" "May they live forever"

"When an old person dies, a library burns..." African proverb

"I feel them calling - always calling. I have to search these people out, I need to know them, I need to understand them, they are the past from which I came, they are my legacy to my descendants...to my children, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren, etc...." John E. Sherman

"Just because we don't know where they are buried doesn't mean they never lived."

"To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." from CENTENNIAL by James A. Michener
