I have been interested in family history (mine and any one else's) for as long as I can remember but actively started researching my husband's ancestors in Maine in the early 1990's. We moved to Maine not knowing that many of his family lines originated here. My specific interests are the Mitchells, mainly the Mitchells of Georgetown/Bath and Leeds. My wish is that I will solve the mystery of who were the parents of Thomas and Joseph Mitchell of Leeds? I have my own ideas. Most of what is published has been proven wrong. Other family names include Lemont, Jacobs, Gilbert, Getchell. I used to do volunteer look-ups for people living away from this area but then life got too busy. Makes you feel like Santa Claus!
