Bio

I enjoy Genealogy and I like walking Cemeteries so I'm happy to fill photo requests.

*Created memorials for Twenty-three of the Thirty, Holden, Massachusetts Civil War Soldiers along with my FIND A GRAVE friend, Mary (47866465), who took all of the pictures of the gravestones in Grove and Park Avenue Cemeteries and the Memorial Tablets in the Holden Town Hall. She meant with Holden historians so we could get as much accurate information about the soldiers as possible. Her help has been invaluable in this project. Seven of the soldiers already had memorials on FIND A GRAVE. Some of the Holden Soldiers that had Gov't or Family headstones in Grove Cemetery we used for cenotaphs. The others that had unknown burial locations we used the CIVIL WAR MEMORIAL TABLETS that are located in the Holden Town Hall for their cenotaphs. Ten of the Holden Soldiers are buried in National Cemeteries. View the Holden Thirty Virtual Cemetery to see pictures of the Memorial Tablets and to leave virtual flowers. My great grand uncle, George Thurston is one of the Thirty. Without his story we would never of started our Holden Soldiers project. Viewing the beautiful, white marble, Memorial Tablets piqued both Mary's and my interest in honoring the other Twenty-nine soldiers with memorials on FIND A GRAVE.
