Bio

I enjoy honoring my ancestors by writing brief biographies for them. I began seriously doing genealogical research about 20 years ago and I've learned so much.

I appreciate all of you who have taken grave photos and please know that I always check your profile for permission to use the photos that I obtain directly off of find-a-grave and that when I post them elsewhere I always give credit to the photographer.

Please feel free to use any grave photos that I have submitted, either with or without credit to me as photographer.

Many of the profiles I manage are my own family. But please feel free to request transfer if I manage one of your relations as there are some that I have because I initially created them. If you are within 4 generations of the person and I am not, I will always transfer the management upon request. This means if they are your great grandparent or closer.

Please note that without clear documentation that someone was born in a certain town (and not just baptized there) I will almost always put just the name of the county (or parish in Louisiana) in the place of birth. The same goes for death--just because someone's church burial record is in a certain town does not mean they died there. I will refuse suggested edits along the same lines. IF you have a death certificate or such showing they died in a certain place then of course I'll use that specific place if you so inform me about the DC, but otherwise, in the interest of accuracy, I use the county/parish as the location. Saying someone was born in Lafourche Parish, LA when they were specifically born in a certain town in that parish is not inaccurate. There is no need to blast me in all caps for rejecting a suggested edit that does not include evidence to support it.

When I find evidence a memorial is placed in the wrong cemetery and I have good evidence of where they are buried, I used to give a suggestion to the current manager with a link to the correct cemetery. This has only worked for me with one manager so now I go ahead and set up a memorial in the correct cemetery and suggest a merge. I don't do so carelessly; I have never had a merge rejected. If this happens to one of your ancestor's memorials and you want the memorial back, I'll be happy to transfer it back to you now that it is in the correct cemetery.
