in 2011~~ I became very interested in researching my dad's family HORNSBY & I started in Tallassee, Alabama for that is where much of his family is from as I understood from him as he shared..it has led me to discover KIN I never knew I had. It also was amazing to watch my 5 sisters as I shared with them. As we grew up, we had very little contact with Hornsby's other than my dad's siblings & I will never forget what my baby sister said ''oh my I thought we were the only Hornsby's'' she was amazed at the cemeteries filled with relatives as we explored. It made me think about all the people who really did not know family from the past. How sad for that to be lost. I have come away with a desire to add what I can as I take photos & add to this site. I have also come away with this understanding: ask your relatives, especially the older ones for when they are gone unless they wrote it down..it is lost. When we know our relatives it gives a sense of ''belonging'' a sense of ''completeness''. Yes, we may discover things we did not want to know yet it accomplishes our ''wholeness''that we belong to a family unit created by God Himself.. Even in the Bible geneologies are written for those who ''come behind'' may we do the same!
***please take note****all photos added by me of grave sites that have been personally taken by me/people, events are photos owned by my family/I can only speak for myself and the photos that I have taken. I am giving my express permission for you to use MY photos in any way you see fit in your family research on this site or other sites BUT they are not to be sold.... If you would like you may copy for your personal treasures of the family. Thank you :)
Some photos are from other sources & l try to add copyright info on those.
PLEASE BE KIND when making request of me. I will add, this is about memories of loved ones not trying to outdo the other or get someone in trouble. I am sure we all overlook things on FAG & make mistakes. I do not mind you asking for corrections either through the public, private email or the edit tab. I do not mind transferring your loved one to you. If I duplicate it was indeed an error & if you did yours first, please ask kindly for me to delete it. I am here, as you are, to honor & have a place of memory for others who have gone on before us. Thank you !!
