Bio

I am a 3rd GreatGrandson of Samuel Hopson and Lucinda Stuart, who were married in Christian Co Kentucky Jan 2 1815. In 1818 Samuel and Lucinda and their first 3 children moved to Mound Prairie, Hempstead County, Arkansas Territory. Arkansas would not become a State until 1836. Samuel and Lucinda had 17 children, the last 14 being born in Mound Prairie, which would become Columbus, Arkansas which is near Washington, Ark the county seat in the Territorial Days of Arkansas, during early Statehood, and up until Hope, Arkansas became the County Seat of Hempstead...in 1939. Samuel and Lucinda are buried in 16th Section Cemetery in Mound Prairie. Lucinda Stuart Hopson's parents Abraham Stuart and Mary Kuykendall, are also buried in this cemetery, in Mound Prairie, along with Abraham's mother - Sarah Elizabeth Fulkerson Stuart. I host a Hopson Stuart Family Reunion in Historic Washington Arkansas every two years called "Gathering of Descendants of Samuel Hopson and Lucinda Stuart and their 17 children" or the Hopson Stuart Family Reunion for Decendants of Cousins from Siblings of Samuel and Lucinda, Especially for Stuart Descendants of Sarah E. Fulkerson Stuart, who lived in MOUND PRAIRIE, Arkansas Territory. This Historic Gathering of Hopson Stuart Cousins now includes all Descendants of Henry Hopson and Martha Neville and Descendants of John Stuart and Sarah Elizabeth Fulkerson, but is still Hosted by descendants of Samuel Hopson and Lucinda Stuart. See my virtual Cemeteries for descendants of Samuel and Lucinda. They are not complete by any means, but all the people listed are Descendants of Samuel and Lucinda or are the spouses of Descendants.....If you are a Descendant of any of the people in My Virtual Cemeteries, or if you are a descendant of this or any Hopson or Stuart family related to Samuel and Lucinda... PLEASE email me, I would love to hear from you and INVITE you to come to the next Hopson Stuart Reunion... planned for June 2024. For details, send us an email at [email protected] Thank You... your cousin Travis Neville Hopson
