Please don't follow too closely - I brake for cemeteries. I began to piece together my family history about 15 years ago, and was able to accelerate my hunts since the growth of genealogy interest on the internet, great sites like FindAGrave, and most importantly, my retirement. I loved life as an engineer and genealogy is a way to satisfy my need to solve puzzles and problems.

Seriously, cemetery visits are a critical part of putting your family humpty dumpty back together again. So if you cannot visit a cemetery, FindAGrave is the next best thing.

One more thing. FindAGrave has given me a way to honor the veterans in my family line. Please check out my virtual cemetery for my ancestors who defended their states during our Civil War. Except for the Mexican War, my ancestors have fought in every American conflict beginning with the Revolutionary War and through World War II. My brother an I served during the Vietnam war.

Please pay forward for all the information you find by joining Find A Grave and freely sharing what you have.

Just and ending note. The woman next to me is my daughter, Blythe. She died by suicide on August 1, 2013. Yes, she was mentally ill and her life story follows many others of struggle within a system that just does not work. Here memorial is 116543011. This is a photo taken at our favorite place doing our favorite thing - cheering on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
