Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Missouri and now live in Arizona. I've also lived in New Mexico and Nevada. I'm the 2nd oldest of eleven children born to John and Dorothy Barnby. I'm married and have two children and six grandchildren.

I've been doing genealogy research since the 1990's. Thanks to all those who have helped me along the way! Especially thanks to my parents who have passed down to me their legacy of family history, stories and memories. There's nothing more valuable to me than that, except for the unconditional love and caring that they gave to me. I decided to contribute to Findagrave because I believe that everyone deserves to be remembered. This is a great site to share with others and preserve family photos and history for future generations!
PHOTOS......If you use my photos elsewhere, please mention that you got them from Find A Grave......I've been adding my tree to Ancestry this year (2016), so I will eventually have all the photos on there also, plus more. If they come from Ancestry, they will automatically show me as the original source. The two trees I've created on Ancestry are: Barnby-Morgan Family Tree and Hubbard-Hodge Family Tree.

RE: Nancy Crossley Morgan
After the 1850 census Lydia's family went by Carr. I went out to her grave. The stone has Sept. 19,1822 for her birth. We know that isn't right as she would have been too young to get married in 1832 and have her first child in 1833. She is listed as 34 in the 1850 census. Age 40 in 1860 and age 51 in 1870. I believe she was born 1815/6. Her tombstone has her age as 53, no death date, so would have been in 1875.
I wonder if Nancy was Marion's daughter.

RE: Nancy Crossley Morgan
Using the message boards is fine. Interesting that about two weeks ago I was on familysearch and typed in Crosley and Tippecanoe Co.,IN and found the same people you did.
I believe strongly that Nancy, Betsy, Lydia and Mary were sisters. Elizabeth throws me as would they name a daughter Betsy and another Elizabeth? Entirely possible. I also believe Elizabeth was a sister to Thomas born 1807/9 and died in 1890 as he is listed in census records with her.
I have been working on Lydia's family as she and Isaac moved to Jasper Co.,MO. Isaac died about 1853 as Lydia married 2nd George Sly in 1854. George died in 1858 and she married 3rd Clisby Cobb Arington who died in June 1860, not long after the census. Lydia is bd here in Joplin and her stone has her date of birth as Sep. 22,1822 and she died in 1875. It is very hard to read and I am going to take some chalk and see if I can find what it says.
Elizabeth married William Porter and stayed in Indiana. Betsy and husband Jonathan Tanner moved to Taney Co.,MO where Betsy is supposed to have died possibly not long after the birth of her youngest son, Samuel in 1842. Jonathan moved the kids to Texas.
I hadn't found Marion, apparently they moved to Dade Co.,MO as that is where Cynthia and two of her sons were in 1860. All for now.

Nancy Crossley Morgan
My name is Kenny Melton and my gr-gr-gr-grandma was Mary Crossley/Crosley Fithian Brown Roach. I believe Nancy and Mary were sisters as they were both married in Tippecanoe County, IN and lived in the same areas in MO. Mary's oldest son was Peter Morgan Fithian. In her marriage record (according to a cousin) Mary's father George Crosley/Crossley gave consent for her marriage.

Barnby relatives
Linda I am your cousin, Ginger, from Kansas. Janice still lives in Humboldt, Jeanne in Chanute, Glenda in Parsons, and I live north of Erie. I am registered with Findagrave and hope to get started working with them soon. I have had a couple of requests, but they were at cemeteries with which I was unfamiliar. I would love to check out any in this area that you need. Mom and Dad are buried in Chanute. Your Grandma Barnby and Uncle Jim are buried in Noel. I think I may have a photo somewhere of their graves. Was in contact with your brother, John a few years ago. Had hoped to get back that way to visit, but cannot leave my husband on his own as he is 86 now and forgets to take his medicine and to eat when I am not here. Hope to hear from you as I miss the old days and the fun we used to have.

RE: Harley Morgan #128090870 can be confusing when emotion is added to the time. It indicates William on everything I see.
