RE: Jacob Greene
Jacob Greene is my great great grandfather and his burial place is not known. He is not the same Jacob who married Francis Aker and is buried in Alabama. I am not certain what other information I can provide but am happy to share all that I can.

RE: Robert Lee Knight
I truly D not know and as I have posted in my personal page, I do not research edit submissions as there are far too many ppl I have listed to go back and research all the edits ppl have. I have removed the junior for now from his name as I agree that it would certainly appear he is not a junior at all. I will try to go back and look in the book I got the info from originally and see if they had a junior listed as well. I will advise in the notes of his acct if I do add the jumior back. Thank you for your attn to this matter and I hope you can understand my dilemma with researching every acct as I would never get any of my own personal research done. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Wishes!

Nothing in the genealogy world is 100%. There are mistakes on memorial stones, census records, death certificates, and even memories. I must go by the memorial stone data unless I find out otherwise. If you wish I can add your doubts to her bio, so that others will know that it is possible that the data might be incorrect.

The photo is posted. The photo volunteer confirmed the dates at the office for you. Happy to transfer if you're family.

I went through the information that was used to create the memorial and it's type correctly. It's possible that the information is incorrect so I will get a photo of the marker. I should have the photo in a couple of days. I'll let you know when it's up.

RE: Georgia Ann Shell Champion
Margaret, many of the gravestones in the Jacksonville Cemetery are missing or in pieces. I don't know why; possibly vandalism. Before my great aunt Mary died, she replaced the stone for her mother, Dollie, but none of the others. Dollie is buried near her first husband, Kelton West Champion, and their youngest son, John Allen Champion, but their gravestones are gone. I've never been to Alabama personally, but my mother has been to the cemetery. Kelton and Dollie were her grandparents.

Georgia Ann Shell Champion had 8 children. She and her youngest child died in childbirth. Her children were William Jacob "Jake" Champion (1875-1914), Newton Thomas Champion (1877-1930), John Robert Champion (1879-1903), Dora Crook Champion (c.1884-1898), Sarah Earl "Sadie" Champion (1885-1942), Kelton West Champion (1888-1919), Flournoy Whisenant "Chick" Champion (1892-1962) and Nancy Champion (1895-1895).

After Georgia died, Old Man George remarried to Edna Ray and had 8 more children: Judie Virginia Champion (1899-1986), Frederick Jones Champion (1901-1979), James Franklin Champion (1904-1959), Arthur Brisbane Champion (1906-?), Effie Mae Champion (1909-?), George Calvin Champion (1912-2001), Margaret Edna Champion (1914-1994) and Ralph Bingham Champion (1916-1996).

At least 4 of George's children were buried in the Jacksonville Cemetery. Several are in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Sadie is at Mount Zion. Chick is at Oak Bowery Baptist Church. I don't yet know where the rest are. I'm still researching. I hope this information helps you. Good luck!

RE: The Wife of Micajah Singleton
Hi Margaret,

I'm assuming that she does, since she is listed in the 1963 cemetery survey of Forrest Cemetery.

You can find that information at the Gadsden Public Library in Gadsden, AL.

There are some photo vol.'s who are currently taking photos of headstones at Forrest Cemetery.

Until Later....God Bless,
