Born and raised on a dairy farm in Wakefield Town Ship, Stearns County, Minnesota (2 & 1/2 miles south of Cold Spring, Minnesota).
U. S. Navy 25 years active duty, 5 years in Ready Fleet Reserve for a total of (30 years); 13 years at sea, 2 tours in Vietnam and the others in the Pentagon, NATO, National Military Command Center and SIOP/White House detail, along with Chief of Naval Operations duty and Assignment Lead with the Chief of Naval Personnel. After retirement entered: Nuclear Engineering, Design, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Demobilization and Experimental Design and Construction of Clinch River Breeder Reactor, and nine (9) other Nuclear Reactors in Tn, Tx, La and Al.,for a total of 20 years. Retired from TVA Authority. Supervisor at Multi-Care Hospital and 21 Satellite Sites in Tacoma area in Washington. Entered total retirement. Live in Yelm, Washington.
