|I first became interested in our family's genealogy. Then I started collecting old family photos. As my interest grew, I started exploring cemeteries near my hometown, where I learned that tombstones often give valuable information.|
Since I found Find a Grave, I have started walking through cemeteries taking pictures of all of the stones. I love the old stones, but they are often hard to read. I take multiple views, then photoshop them to enhance the lettering. I enjoy adding pictures of the tombstones to the memorials. If I don't find entries for the tombstones I have photographed, I add their names to Find a Grave.
You are welcome to copy the photos for your personal use. PLEASE, if you want to put them on Ancestry.com or any other website, please give credit to me. All you have to do is mention the Find a Grave memorial number or my name. It upsets me to see someone else take credit for uploading pictures I spent hours collecting or photoshopping.
If you know additional information you would like added to a memorial I created, I would rather transfer management to you than make the changes myself unless they happen to be members of my family.

|Joy Russell||RE: Washington Clark|
Thanks for the transfer, Doreen. I've looked on Ancestry.com and familysearch.org and there's very little information on this family, and especially on Washington Clark.
I have a newspaper article that was printed after his death, that tells about his growing up years, his wife (who never remarried after his death) and two children. The article also contains the letter that he wrote to his wife just hours before he was hung.
I think it's very important to post that information since no one seems to have it. I doubt that his body was returned to the cemetery where his wife is buried in Ohio. During the Civil War, I don't think that was a common practice and I would imagine his body was interred somewhere here at Huntsville, Arkansas. There's nothing in his 60+ military records to show that his body was exhumed and returned to Ohio.
I will try and get all of the information posted in the next week or so.

Thank you very much for adding the bio note to his memorial. I appreciate your quick response.
Thanks so much for the transfer - very kind of you!

Doreen,I did not want you to do anything. I just noticed Nelson was on your findagrave.com. I came across his name from the 1936 of May news story about Martin Adams.

Doreen, The Marion Star on May 25th (?)mentions Nelson Myers as one of the last Civil War veterans in Claridon.It was in a piece about Martin Adams, the last veteran from Claridon. Jon D Eager

I am researching Suzanne Irey and found the memorial (# 119774223)that you created for her. However I also found another memorial you created (Find A Grave Memorial# 119774222) for someone with the same name. Are these the same person. Only memorial #119774223 has a headstone. Please advise.
Hi Doreen. Thank you for the Longacre transfers.
I appreciate your quick response.
You must live in the Marion County area. My husband's family is from Fulton in Morrow County, but his mom had lots of relative in the Marion area. These are his mother's grandparents.
