Bio

My name is Laura Lee Prochaska. I live in San Antonio, Texas. My mother, Joan Lee Shotwell Prochaska Eckstein (born 11/24/1946), is the third and final child of Stanley & Dorothy Shotwell. I am her third and final child. She has two older sisters, Helen and Frances. Her sisters were 17 & 19 years older than her. She grew up like an only child. For her second marriage she married my father in her early 20s, Francis(Frank) Henry Prochaska III in 1970. He is an inventor, mechanical engineer, father of two boys & a girl. He is also an only child & was raised is Chicago, Illinois. My parents lived in Virginia Beach for 10 years together before moving to Augusta County Waynesboro, Virginia in 1981 & raised Frank M., David A., and me in the beautiful valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains. My brothers are 10 and 6 years older than me and some have of my childhood I too felt like an only child. My parents were married for 29 years. My mother passed away on 6/28/05, of metastatic breast cancer. She was a wonderful mother, an expressive artist, & a God seeking Christian. Her loving niece Pam got my Mother a tombstone a few years ago, so her gravesite is now honored. Yet, she was cremated and her ashes are in a wooden box buried on top of her daddy's grave. Her sister Frances is next to her on her mother's tomb. She has two grand-daughters, Emma Lee Prochaska, who was born in March 2006 and Anna Grace who was born in 2016, to my oldest brother Frankie Prochaska. My family are wonderful God focused people and are a wonderful support system for me. I am happy to connect with other people who share the same family tree or anyone.
