In 1980 I took up the task of exploring family history where my parents left off. I had my daughter that year and did it to keep my mind busy while I stayed home with her. I also liked to get mail. I tackled my husband's family, too. Three hundred years in New Jersey kept me plenty mentally active!

I work now as a museum teacher and seasonal park ranger. In teaching and interpreting American history, I like to get people to see that their families "little" stories shaped the "big" stories in history. Sharing this perspective gives more meaning to events and makes them personal.
