"I may not be from the South but I got here as soon as I could"

I live in Asheville, North Carolina but travel to South Carolina and Georgia in search of relatives/ancestors graves. I would be more than happy to photograph gravestones from Madison County, North Carolina to Augusta, Georgia and maybe beyond.

I'm not related to most of the people for whom I have created memorial pages and I believe memorial pages should belong to relatives. If I have created a memorial page for your ancestor who is within FG guidelines for transfer, let me know and I will be more than happy to transfer their page to you.

I take photos of what I would like to see if it were my ancestor, such as where they are buried and who is nearby. Often my site photos help people with their family research. For someone who is buried next to their spouse I upload three photos. One is the site photo; one is the two spouse’s gravestones together, and then the gravestone that was requested. For singles I upload a site photo and a close-up photo. I know FG only allows five photos for pages that are not sponsored. If the page manager does not want all the photos I upload, feel free to let me know and I will delete any photos you like.

I appreciate the original intention of Find a Grave as being a place to record burials and gravestone photos; however, I believe it has grown to be so much more. Find a Grave is an invaluable tool for genealogy research and if rules such as including only what is etched on the stone on the person's memorial page were strictly followed, so much information would be lost.

Basic etiquette rules such as respecting someone else's photo request claim, not creating duplicates, etc. are very important in maintaining the quality of this site.

I have added thousands of photos to FG and the feedback I receive from family and descendants is immensely rewarding. That’s what keeps me wanting to continue fulfilling photo requests.

Feel free to use my photos in your family tree, however, I would appreciate being credited as the photographer.
