I also found it interesting that Stinson and Elizabeth were married in 1842, Children's DOB 1857, 1859 and 1860. There may be an explanation, but I just realized this while looking up info you requested about Stinson.???

Hello: RE: Stinson- Parish Record of Christ Church-Alexandria, Virginia From 1828-1849 cites the following Grover, Stinson (of Maine) Harper, Elizabeth E(of Alexandria) 05/30/1842. I visted this church to see if they had any additional information and they were in process of trying to find files and information about church and I requested they send me anything in their records that might pertain to Stinson and Elizabeth. I never heard back from them so I assumed the information had not been located.Author of the publication citing this record is Steven A.Bridges.
As to Cornelius Hall, the U.S.Census, 1860, Hall/Grovers (?) living on South Orange and Alexandria Road., Fairfax, Virginia. Not sure what that is all about. 1880 Census adds Robert H Oders, age four, to mix as an adopted child. Death date and place from Ancestry in Greenwood Family Tree and several others. i think I found something in newspaper mentioning his death (like a one liner) but need to see if i can find that reference.I can't find it but will look further. I have tried to search DC death records and cemeteries about his death, but no luck.Seems like he vanished. Maybe he abandoned her, but somebody decided to put "wife of Stinson on Elizabeth's tombstone.

I learned of Elizabeth Grover's maiden name through an edit submitted by contributor Tracey Hayes Davidson, member #46795900. From her bio, it appears that she would be very happy to share any info she might have. Good luck! -- judi

Glad you are back working Grover family project. I am furnishing everything I know about Stinson Grover. He is truly a mystery man.Stinson Grover, of Maine, married Elizabeth Harper on May 30, 1842,at Christ Church, Alexandria, Virginia. Best information I have is that he died in Washington,DC, in 1879. Stinson and Elizabeth had three children:Raymond Emeric Grover,Aurelius B. Grover and Margaret Grover Greenwood.Stinson's wife, Elizabeth, died November 27,1901, in Alexandria, Virginia. She is buried in the Washington Street United Methodist Church Cemetery, also know as the Union Cemetery, Alexandria. She is buried in Section W-239 of the cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads,in part, widow of Stinson Grover. The cemetery is still active and they have no record of Stinson Grover being buried there. If you have anything more about Stinson, please let me know.Best regards and good luck on your project.

I took other Vroman tombstone photos when I was at Crown Hill, we are on vacation, I'll add them to Find A Grave as I have time so check back later, I'm assuming they'll be related to Blanche.

I found that Mr. Edelen already has a photograph of his headstone on his memorial page. I am sorry that I was not able to attain the photograph for you, however it is with his page and that is the most important thing.
Thank you for your request.
