James L. Ash
My name is Richard Ash and may possibly be a descendent of James L. Ash. I just recently tried to trace my ancestry back but got stuck at Arba only knowing that his parents were from Ireland. I noticed you left comment on a wall of another member stating that you were trying to find his grave out in Milan and received word back that you had a general location. My brother is still up in Michigan and wants to see if he can find it since there's no picture located on the website. Did you happen to come across it or at least have the general location of his grave? I have two wives names from records listed as Louise Ash or Sarah Louise Ash (Haight, Height, even Weight on some records) and Ellis J. Ash (Rubert). Thanks.

RE: Raplee
We might be cousins. I have some Walling ancestors too. I know Samuel Walling married Susannah Swarts are buried in Bennettsville along with their son Daniel Walling. Susannah Swarts is my 1st cousin 6x removed which makes her son, Daniel Walling my 2nd cousin 5x removed.

Thank you Joy. I did not want to copy your photos without your permission due to copyright laws.

I'm thrilled that you got the pictures. I've heard from others that this cemetery is totally run down and overgrown. I also heard that the farmer next door may have plowed up some of the cemetery. Haven't been able to get any pictures because most people say it is so bad they won't go into it....or what is left of it.

Hi Joy,

I just realized that the memorials you created in 2012 for Sarah Adams Raplee and Stephen Raplee in Bennettsville Cemetery are duplicates of memorials that I created back in 2009. Could you please copy your pictures over to my original memorials and then try to delete the memorials you created?

If you have trouble doing this please let me know and I will see if I can get Find A Grave admin to help.

Thank you,

Joy - This is wonderful, Thank you so much!!

From the photo, it looks like a tree is growing around Jacob and Mary's stones. If that tree dies or falls, it will take the stones with it.
Sure am glad you got the pics.

Joy -
I am grateful to you for the ones you did get. I had heard it was very hard to get to.

Thank You so much for the photo of Mary's stone. Great job!!!

Have you thought about taking a 'cemetery' photo and adding it to Bennettsville Cemetery page.
Then we could 'see' the burial site of our ancestors so long ago.
Thanks again.
