Hello. My genealogy searches began early in life because my mother was an avid family history buff. I was drug to court houses and grave yards as early as 8 years old. Being from West Virginia, those grave yards were usually on top of a mountain with briar patches along the way. There were no computers nor scanners in those days. Genealogy was work. You had to love it. And, I benefited greatly from the work she did. Thanks, Mom. I cherish the poems you wrote about your childhood in WV and about your grandparents.

I am a retired teacher, elementary and then a masters degree in behavior disorders and taught special ed kids. I have two adorable great-granddaughters. I want to leave a family history for my posterity. Not just names and dates, but stories of their life, success and struggles.
