Bio and Links
Bio Photo 1) First of all, I would like to state that I am a volunteer of I have recently noticed on contributor pages, sarcastic remarks to other members. This is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY AND UNACCEPTABLE and should not be tolerated!!! {the delete key is a wonderful invention}
2) DO NOT look at my contributor numbers as a FAG hoarder... those numbers are due to hard work, photographing completely local cemeteries and adding data for YOU to locate your ancestors. Since is affiliated with, our information that we volunteers have inputted, was added here for you to locate your family ancestors!!

My area does not have a local historical society, so I do this so YOU were able to find your family ancestors !!
3) I add as much information that is possible onto a memorial. I add obituaries because it includes a biography of the persons life ~ the only one that most will ever have.
When I add an obituary, I will include the funeral home and or newspaper with credit to them, as per "suggested guidelines". I am fully aware of "suggested guidelines" regarding obituaries, however; there is too much valuable information regarding a person's biography, ie: our honored and decorated Veterans

PLEASE do not scorn me about obituaries being posted on Findagrave!!!
I am a subscriber to, who now own I have seen NUMEROUS people who have reused my grave marker photos, obituaries or other data on their family trees. It's like a pyramid. This is a useful tool for genealogists.
If you have a problem with your photos being reposted, then do not put them on here. It's a simple equation!!!!

For additional information, which may not be aware of: " Articles published before 1923. Any news article published in the United States before 1923 is in the public domain and you can reprint or republish it in any form you’d like without any copyright concerns at all."
Peter B. Hirtle, archivist and digital information expert at Cornell University.
4) DUPLICATES: ONE of my BIGGEST pet peeve is duplicate memorials!! PLEASE LOOK FIRST by doing a thorough search before you create a memorial. Type in the name in the search to see if a memorial already exists.
Be cautious of first and last name spellings.
Most duplicates are in error and not done intentionally.
I am happy to link family members when you request by using the 'Edit' tab.
Before I approve an 'edit', I will try to validate your information before I click 'approve'

If you want information added to a memorial:
go to the memorial, edit tab then use the "suggestion" tab to send me the information that could be added into the "bio section" by me to a memorial.
6) TRANSFER MANAGEMENT: If a memorial is of my family, I will not transfer.
I don't mind doing transfers, but one time I had a FAG member request a transfer of ALL of a particular family name from a about 18 of them!!!!!! That is way too extreme and not necessary.
For your extended family members, you may and should consider creating a Virtual Cemetery to your contributor page.

RE: Lachapell
Yes, I caught all three and actually many others. The Lachapelle family married into the Porter and Edelbeck has been a gold letter day!

Thanks again,

Thank you so much L. Evans for taking the time to point out the Cemetery for Elizabeth Jane (Martel) LaChapell. It really is a small world...

Thanks for all your work. Living in Florida, I would have never tracked this relative down in Wisconsin if you had not photographed him for Find A Grave. I also thought it was a nice touch to acknowledge that I was the one to add his parent link. I have added a number of parent and spouse links in my genealogical research, but this was the first time I got a shout out on the memorial page. I also think it is excellent when I find an obituary on the memorial page, because they are often extremely helpful.

RE: Kunigunde Brust @ St. Peter & Paul
You are so welcome! I came up to Door County from Minnesota specifically for genealogy and to find my great grandparents' , 2xgreats and one 3xgreat grandmother's graves, which I'd never seen. Your ancesotors are very close to mine! I had hoped to find the photo requests if I had time but I had to dig out so many headstones which were beneath the sod. Two of ours are still missing. I'm sorry I didn't take a photo of the other side for you but it wasn't in the best light by that time. I was there for 3 hours digging out my Hogans and McDermotts. I only just saw your ancestor's monument while walking to the car the last time. I hope one day to go back there-we were so rushed and tried to squeeze in too much in our short trip there. I hope someone takes a beautiful photo of the other side for you!

Thank you for all the work you have done.
I have been researching this family for a very long time (with no luck)and was very excited to see this when I did. Is there any way you could help me get in touch with any member of this family as I am the gggrandson of the father of "Sene".
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much

If you hadn't put his tombstone on findagrave I wouldn't have known where he was, so thank YOU.

RE: Dorothy Marie Bennett Rhoat (# 167440236)
Thanks again. Also wanted to mention that Dorothy's father John was 2nd husband to my great-grandmother, Isabelle Barber Edgar-Bennett. I have additional info on John as well as a ton on the Isabelle if you're interested.

Best regards, Joe

Mary nee Wondergem (#142414434)
Perhaps you already know this, but according to husband Harry VerVelde's Sheboygan Press obituary he was buried in Sunrise Memorial Gardens located at Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I would guess that his wife Mary was also buried there? (You've done great work on the Peter Wondergem family!)
