I joined Find A Grave in 2013 after my husband passed away. I enter memorials of family, those connected to my family by marriage, and anyone my friends or neighbors may ask me to enter. I am not interested in the number of memorials I add or the number of memorials I manage. I am only interested in the information the memorial provides.

THAT SAID

I am a native of Chickamauga, Georgia but now live in South Carolina.

I was born at Simonton Clinic/Hospital, attended Pond Springs Elementary and Gordon Lee Memorial High Schools, and worshiped at Old Bethel Baptist and Shield Baptist Churches. After marrying, my husband and I both worked for E.T. Barwick Carpet Mills in Lafayette and Kensington. After a few years my husband joined the military and off we went to see the world.

I have lived in California (CA) three locations, Colorado (CO), Florida (FL) two locations, Georgia (GA), Germany (DE) three locations, South Carolina (SC) two locations, and Texas (TX). I managed an apartment complex in CO, worked for a car dealership in SC, and for the Department of Defense (DOD) in CA, DE, and SC. My husband retired from the military in 1980 and started his own appliance repair business. I left the DOD in 1996, when the military base where I was working closed, and started my own organizational design business. Several years later, I closed my business and managed a child development center for a while before taking a position teaching pre-GED, then lastly as an Office Manager for a Human Resource Management firm. My husband closed his repair business in 2009 and we both retired. Unfortunately, my husband passed away in October 2012.
