Have you seen the Lamar County Genealogical site? They have an amazing data base of obituaries. If you are not already using it, you will be amazed at the amount of information it has...And it is FREE!! Happy Hunting!

Never seen that picture before of James Isaac Grant, my great grandmother, Sarah Ann Grant White's brother.
Great picture of him.
Thanks for posting it.

Hi Jan, I'm blushing....what a nice compliment. I do try for accuracy and if I am ever in doubt, I notate it on a person's site.
Ancestry is a great tool but there are inaccuracies even in their data...the biggest is the spelling of names from hard copy to the listings. So you sometimes have to go with your instincts to decide if it is your relative or not.
I haven't started a tree because I still have questions about certain people. And you are right...peeps copy other peeps stuff. I have tried to notify peeps when I find discrepancies...but I never see their trees change....so I quit doing so. It was driving me crazy.
I think you will enjoy this site. It becomes addictive...just like transcribing cemeteries. It's a passion!!!
I got compulsive and asked that Hattie be linked to her parents, her maiden name entered as well as her nickname. Hope you don't mind. And it looks like it has been done. When you have suggestions or want a transfer to you done, do it through the EDIT button on the upper right corner of the person's site.
Questions about working on this site, let me and I'll do my best to answer. But it is pretty straight forward.
Andi - and I'm stickin to it too!!!!
Hi Jan (if I may), I have fixed the birth year for Eliza on Cary and A.J. sites. No need to send me documentation. I've added some information on Cary's site. I am not positive but a family tree on Ancestry says her parents died in Princeton, KY and are buried in the "City Cemetery". On F.A.G., there is only one cemetery listed for Princeton, Caldwell County, KY. I didn't add them to that cemetery as would need to confirm before doing so.
Someday I hope to find the burial place of James Tuckahoe and Jenni or Jennie Levi Ritchey (Richey). They may turn up someday.

Hello, I have added Eliza's children to Cary and A.J.'s sites. In doing so, I noticed that Eliza's site has the wrong name for her.....they have Elizabeth and also the wrong birth year. Marker states 1854 but the person who added her has it as 1850. I have found information to that she was born in 1853 but that may be inaccurate. Do you know for sure what year Eliza (Elizabeth?) was born?
Please check to make sure I added things correctly. If you find any errors, let me know. Happy to fix them.
Thank you for passing on more information in regards to my very distant relatives.
