Bio

I found Find A Grave when I was searching the internet and wanted to see my grandmother's grave. I lived in another state and had never seen her gravestone. I knew her ashes were buried with her mother, my great grandmother. At the time, I lived too far away and did not have the resources to visit the cemetery in person. When a wonderful volunteer took the photo of my great grandmother's gravestone and added it to Find A Grave, I was surprised to learn my grandmother's name had never been added to the gravestone. I called the cemetery, but due to the rules (obtain permission from the owners of the gravesite) they would not allow an additional engraving to be added to the gravestone. (Getting permission was not possible, because the owners of the gravesite had long since died.)

A few years later my cousin was able convince the cemetery to allow my grandmother's name to be added to the gravestone and I am forever grateful. Thank you to all the volunteers who make this website possible. I have since added the gravestone photos and other photos/information to Find A Grave that I have collected over the years as part of my genealogy research. I hope others will benefit from seeing their loved ones gravesite on Find A Grave, especially those that live too far away to visit the cemetery in person as I was with my grandmother.

Researching my family genealogy since 2006.
