Chris, I found a death certificate for a Emma A. Haynes, but maybe you have already found this, too.

I would like to make a correction to Edward's find-
a-grave information. His death certificate and his gravestone says that he died in '1930'; not '1938.'

Mary Wood Crittenden
I can also help with the confusion on Mary's maiden name. I noticed while doing DAR application, that she was consistent with putting her maiden name as Wood and that she was born in Maryland. I asked older relatives about it and they said they didn't know where the Shattuck name came from. I finally found where they were married. Look up the Sessional records for the church at Oaks Corner in New York. I knew Noah was around that area before he moved to Potter County. The records had recently been transcribed and it shows that Noah Crittenden married Mrs. Shattuck in 1817 and a Rev. Moshier officiated the marriage. Her first marriage was to a Shattuck. The DAR has

Mary Wood Crittenden
I was reading the bio you had for her. In the 1860 Census she is living with her son Noah Crittenden and his family..

Compiled by PHGS Members Dan and Sally Maxson

032-1 - CRITTENDEN NOAH - 40 - M - MASS. - 142
032-2 - CRITTENDEN CATHERINE J. Stout - 33 - F - NY - 142
032-3 - CRITTENDEN MARY - 12 - F -PA - 142
032-4 - CRITTEDEN EDGAR S. - 5 - M -PA - 142
032-5 - CRITTENDEN WRIGHT - 2 - M -PA - 142
032-6 - LOVELL FRANCIS - 19 - M -PA - 142
032-7 - LOVELL CONSIDER - 17 - F -PA - 142
032-8 - CRITTENDEN MARY WOOD - 76 - F - MD. - 142

Also, Catherine Crittenden isn't a Stout she is a Spicer. I spoke to the historical society and was told that evidently her grave stone had been damaged and only the S for her maiden name was showing. When it was fixed they assumed he name was Stout because of graves nearby, You can find them in the History of Descendants of Peter Spicer....the family is all there. I am hoping I can start helping with lookups...I became sick and had multiple surgeries over the last 3 years, but now am on the mend...can't drive yet, but I will let you know when I can start.

Anita Hendryx and Allen Prince photo
Dear M. Hobson,

I'd love to know where you found the picture I mentioned in the subject line. I have only one picture of Allen (to whom I'm distantly related) and none of Anita -- whom, by the way, I always heard addressed and referred to as though her name were spelled "Night-a".

Thanks in advance.
