Bio

I began my genealogy "career" (hobby, avocation, obsession, "disease," whatever) in April 1974, when my older son was 3 months old. Since that time, I have trekked through many a cemetery, always armed with my camera (and frequently with several yards of pellum and charcoal pencils for gravestone rubbings).

I ended a somewhat dormant period of my genealogical pursuits a couple of summers ago when I subscribed to Ancestry.com and have been fairly active since then. Although I would love to have the international version to explore in Europe, especially some of my Irish roots, I subscribe to the domestic version only at present. Ancestry.com is really amazing.

Since becoming a contributor, I have come to learn what a wonderful resource the Find-A-Grave System really is. I will not be in the same league with those whose contributions number in the 6 figures, but I do plan to be a very regular contributor. I look forward to working with all parts of the system to further my own research but also to assist others who might request my assistance.

-------------------------------------------

With Regard to Memorials which I may add on individuals not within my own family: I am happy to make appropriate corrections or add details via the "Suggest A Correction" button on the memorial. I will also be pleased to consider any appropriate transfers of management for such memorials. To document the date and reason for transfers, and hopefully prevent possible deletion of memorials and/or family squabbles, in requesting transfer of a memorial, please leave a message here including the memorial name & number, and your relationship, name & member ID.

I have no intent of commercial or financial gain from posting information on this site. I do this solely for my own enjoyment and for non-family additions I might make as a service to others searching for family burial locations for personal or genealogy purposes.

If I have created a memorial for a family member of yours, please feel free to request a transfer.

Any photo I have posted on Find a Grave is intended to be used.... Please feel free to use them for personal, non-commercial use and in the documentation of your loved ones.

Thank you! Gerald

Genealogy begins as an interest, becomes a hobby, continues as an avocation and in the last stages, is an incurable disease.
