Bio

I became interested in genealogy in my later years (2011) when I finally discovered that I knew very little about my paternal grandmother's family. Along the way I used FAG to unravel many mysteries.

I was once asked to write a short bio for my mother's memorial. And then I was asked if I wanted to sponsor and eventually maintain the memorial. So it only seemed right that when I discovered my "Bartell/Casey/Maurer" roots that I made sure the family memorials and those of any other relations were well documented.

I now know that taking grave marker pictures may require more than a camera and a steady hand. It would probably be a good idea to bring grass clippers, an edger, shovel, blower, gloves and sometimes even a 20 foot ladder!

I look forward to helping others on their journeys of discovery because it will remind me of the journey I once took to find my own family.
