Bio

I am a retired teacher of the deaf. I began working in genealogy after my retirement, primarily to carry out my father's dream of writing a book about the family from Scotland to Northern Indiana. I was fortunate to take 3 genealogy classes at Blue Ridge Community College under David Streets, a well-known instructor and researcher in NC. I worked diligently at the family history until about 2005, but have done very little with my research since then. At present I am living in an independent-living retirement facility, still interested in the family history, but with little time to pursue it. My husband is in failing health, and I find my time here consumed with planned activities and caretaking. My dad's book has never been written.
