I began family research 30 years ago while teaching at George Washington University School of Medicine a few blocks from the headquarters of the DAR. My focus is on the 20k+ descendants of Robert Anderson (1637 - 1712) and the descendants of the 29 families who funded their own pastor, Samuel Davies-- the first licensed preacher in Virginia. Anderson Meeting House in Cumberland County, VA became Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1754 and still has the original timbers in its foundation today.
