Bio

My family roots are deep into Eastern Kentucky and the border areas in Virginia and West Virginia. However, I grew as an "Army Brat" - always moving and with only distant connections to extended family members. After college, a short time in the Army (Germany & Vietnam) and graduate school the moving pattern continued. In my professional career I worked at different universities in the US and overseas. All of this may explain why both genealogy and history have been two of my hobbies over the years. Now that I'm retired I can spend more time on it. Cemeteries have always been fascinating because of the history. I've found Find A Grave a great resource and now want to contribute in a small way.
