Bio

I am a native Texan as is my husband - important point there! For many years I traveled the world with my Army husband. I am also a career civil servant and retired with 30 plus years of federal service.

I have always been an avid reader so it was just a short step from reading books to collecting books. It was always slightly humorous to see the packers the Army sent to move us look at all of my bookcases and then each other as if to say Who Gets This Job? Seriously, I have about 3900 hardcover books now. And I track each and every one in a database that I created.

My two older brothers got me interested in genealogy about 12-15 years ago. They told me it's like an addiction. You think you're going to just look up a couple of things and the next thing you know you're spending several hours a day researching family and friends. I've learned things about my family that make me so proud! Thank goodness for this type of addiction!
