Once upon a time, a kind attorney in NJ walked a cemetery to locate the stone of a woman who had died decades ago. Her daughter was only seven when her mother died. At the time, her father couldn't afford a stone, so the young woman saved to do so once she got her first job. She paid the money and a picture of the gravestone was sent to her since she now lived far away. Fast forward more than fifty years and the daughter was sure her mother's stone was no longer standing. It was by the kindness of the attorney that she found out her mother's stone was just as it was when she had it placed.

I had a small part in the above story. I also realized I could do the same for others in my travels. That's why I walk cemeteries, take pictures of people's gravestones I don't know, all in the hope it helps others.
