Bio

"I hear ethereal whispers
persuasive, soft and still,
Daughter, if you don't remember us,
who will?"
--from an old Irish headstone
This truly says it all for me.

If you have found a memorial page I have posted and you are related, don't hesitate to ask for a transfer!!! To my knowledge I am not directly related to anyone in WNY but my very immediate family. (If you would like for me to transfer a page to you, please let me know by using the "edit" button since that will provide both a link to the page and a link to your contributor page with the necessary ID# for the transfer).
IF I have posted a picture of someone from your family... please feel free to USE my pictures!!! No I do not require "credit".
My family lines are: FATHERS SIDE: Lambert, Noles, Ward, Rinker,Levens and Stephens/Stevens
MOTHERS SIDE: Hickey, McGriff, Dowell, Phelps, Ryan, Simpson/Simson.
I have been a dedicated genealogist and researcher for decades... a gift from my father. He called it "the greatest living jigsaw puzzle you would ever try to solve".
I have used Find A Grave as a research tool for years but decided to become a member only recently.
Born and raised in Arizona, I moved to Western New York in 2003.
While house sitting up in Niagara County,(about 45 minutes from my home in south Buffalo, I stumbled upon a small, beautifully kept cemetery, St Michael The Archangel Cemetery. I was bored and wondered if anyone had requested pictures... yes!... but that is when I realized that no one had documented the cemetery at all!
So my adventure had begun!!! I have completed the pictorial documenting of the cemetery, and have reached out to the parish that runs/maintains the cemetery to see if they would let me document burials that do not have headstones, but sadly, no response.
There are thousands of little cemeteries here in New York, some going back to the late 1600's and early 1700's! They often get overlooked. They are nestled next to a farm, on the side of a road or in someone's back yard... often they contain a handful of graves, long since abandoned by time and family that may not even know these graves still exist.
Currently, I am working on Concordia Cemetery.
I love the search! I love to talk about it and help others begin their search. I love teaching the classes on how to trace your family tree and then watching as people discover who they are by way of who they came from.
I have never charged, never will.
I post for the benefit of those who can't get here to NY to do the search for themselves.
Got a question that I may be able to answer for you?... contact me at [email protected]!
Happy hunting!!
