Find a Grave ID

Bio

I find graveyards interesting and full of information. When my husband and I travel to different areas of the country we try to make a stop to at least one nearby, especially if it's a National Cemetery. One summer we went to a few cemeteries in Illinois with printouts in hand, looking for my ancestors (they weren't huge cemeteries) and I started putting GPS markers at the sites. The condition of some of the older headstones is sad as there are some with almost smooth faces and completely illegible, as I'm sure many of you have seen. For that reason I've placed GPS locations on gravesites we've found.

I started out with just a few cemeteries, and in January many were transferred to me by a distant cousin. If you see mis-information in any of my memorials, or if additional information needs to be added (day/date/state/county/city/veteran status) please suggest an edit I will be happy to add that information upon request.

Thank you!
