Bio

I've been doing genealogy for about 35 years on and off. I blame my father and my great aunt for dragging me along and showing me how to do the "gateway" research that began this addiction! (I also inherited his 2,000+ name database when he passed away and would very much like him to return and accurately document his findings!) I have been using, and in awe of, FAG for quite a while, but only recently became a contributor.

I tend to be very detail oriented so I like to be as accurate and precise as possible. If I submit an edit or send a message with information, please understand that I only do so with the very best of intentions. I have found that genealogy is often a process of comparisons and I sometimes assume that everyone likes to collect every little bit of information like I do! I feel that I should offer any information that I happen to find (because really it belongs to you and your family!) and then you are free to use or discard it as you see fit. Perhaps it will help you fill in a gap or disprove a theory? Perhaps it will cause you to do the little happy dance!

I love walking the cemeteries, taking photos and researching burials. I know how giddy I get when I find new things in my research and I enjoy paying it forward by doing the same for others.

When I take cemetery pics for a request, I often take several of the same stone or area - different angles, very close up (so I can see the words and dates more clearly), from further away (to get several family stones in or so someone can locate the stone later from visible landmarks). I usually only upload one or two per memorial. If you are interested in having any of the others, please message me and I will try to send them.

No need to ask my permission - my photos are usually date stamped just so I can keep track of where I've been but they are yours to use as you wish. You can credit me if that is your preference but it's not necessary.

Also - if I could ask a favor in return - please be patient and understanding with me - as much as I love doing this, I will disappear each year from approximately mid-December through the end of April. In my "real life" I prepare taxes and I do nothing else during that time. And I mean absolutely nothing else. That means if you post a msg or email me, you may not get a response until May. I may occasionally look or respond to something during that time, but it may only be one time the entire time. I apologize in advance, but as much as I love this, I do still need to pay my mortgage!

Happy Hunting to All!!
