I'm a genealogist of opportunity. That is, I work on my trees of interest when and where I have the opportunity to flesh out the skeleton of a tree, beyond dates and places. I'm particularly interested in the women, as they are usually less well researched and are more of a challenge to track down. I learned early on the value of "casting a wide net" beyond direct ancestors. Those ancestors were affected, lived and moved around as parts of their larger families and communities. I look to include and interweave the stories and resources of collateral relatives and what their descendants have inherited in the way of mutually interesting and helpful details.

I also believe in using my research, and the skills I've learned, to pay into the great genealogical favor bank by sharing publicly and to encourage beginning family historians. We all benefit from the huge volume of contributions of other volunteers.

For the above reason, I upload the most recent versions of my trees on rootsweb/ancestry.com and include notes and sources. With the exception of memorials done for friends or their family members, the memorials I've created, and the ones that have been transferred to my management, are for people to whom I'm related. I welcome collaboration and your additions of photos and information. Probably best to use the edit tab on a particular memorial page to communicate with me.
