My grandfather, Warner Carl 'W. C.' Brownfield, would have loved this website! He was an active genealogist for most of his adult life, travelling the country, to document his Brownfield and Hudson lines and my grandmother's Myers and Kirby lines. I have tried to pick up where he left off by adding my maternal line and those of my children.

I value this website because it would be at least a two-day drive for me to visit any of my family's graves, some of which I have never even seen. It was a thrill just to find out where some of them are. Seeing photos of their graves is especially precious to me. Being able to leave virtual flowers for special occasions helps compensate for my inability to get to the actual graves of my parents, grandparents and others whom I still hold dear in my heart.

My deepest appreciation to all those who have contributed to Find a Grave! I have tried to return the favor whenever I am able, particularly by adding memorials for any of those I come upon whose burials are documented, but have not been listed here; and by adding photos plus over a thousand family links and other details which I can document for others already on this site.

My paternal ancestors were Brownfields and Hudsons around Jackson County Missouri; and Myers and Kirbys of Warren County, Kentucky. Both sides go back before the Revolution and then back to the British Isles and western Europe, including a Likens line that was one of the first families to arrive in America from Sweden.

On my maternal side are Bristers and Coles of Logan and Warren Counties, Kentucky. My Coles go back to Hugh Cole of Plymouth Colony, originally from England; plus Iveys, Taylors, Wiggins and Halls from Autauga County, Alabama, going back to Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, England and Ireland, so far. My Taylor line also goes back to pre-Revolution America and, surprisingly, I'm a second cousin, once removed, to Lady Bird Taylor Johnson!

I have also developed my husband's line, which includes Kanes, Lenahans, Perrys, Toolans, McGlynns and Miller-Rood, all in northeast Pennsylvania, going back to Mayo County, Ireland and to Wales. We have my recently deceased 90+ year-old mother-in-law to thank for much of that information.
