Bio

I have started working on my family history years ago. Every time I get started, something throws a stone in the way. 2013 I just jumped in head first and found the reason for some of the blocks --- my family name has changed a few times.

I am mainly from a small town in Maryland (Frostburg, Maryland) and most of my immediate family is in that area (Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania). The surnames I am researching for my family history, in reverse order, are: Boore (current spelling), Boor, and Bohr (family spelling when they came from Germany.

Needless to say, I have found many interesting things about my family, one being that many people in my family started to trace our heritage, but got discouraged when they hit those stone in the road. Many times I have heard "we have tried to do a family tree, but nothing ever comes of it". Looking at their records, the most anyone in my family was able to complete was around 600 names. At this point in time, I have over 3,000 names in my data base and still going (especially with my pen pals in Germany helping out.)

On a side note, I understand that there are some people that like to have "credit" for the photos they take. Please feel free to use any of the photos I submit for your family history research. I am just glad to help anyway I can.

~~ Some family trees have beautiful leaves, and some have just a bunch of nuts. Remember, it is the nuts that make the tree worth shaking. ~~
