I fell into genealogy while researching the Henry Cheney Hammer Company of Little Falls, NY 1854-1954. Genealogical records, including Find-A-Grave, provide the best evidence of who was where when. The next best source of information I found is Old Fulton Postcards, which hosts over 22 million pages of New York newspaper archives -- all fully searchable. Between these sources I have been able to piece together a fairly extensive history of the company while laying to rest some controversies over dates. Eventually this lead me to research my own genealogy, including my relation to Henry Cheney, which I found thanks to Find-A-Grave!
