**Many of the rural cemeteries I find contain memorials that are placed incorrectly in another cemetery. When the errors are numerous, this is very time consuming to contact each memorial and ask that they be moved and wait until it's done to add the photo. Some people still won't move them even though I have physically stood at the grave and photographed it. If you find your relative listed in two cemeteries, one without a photo and mine with a photo, it is located where I put the photo. I don't "guess" on burials.

If I have photographed a grave and it is listed in the wrong cemetery by someone else, I am now going to FIRST make it correct, in the correct cemetery, as Find a Grave recognizes the CORRECT memorial. I will attempt to contact the original and ask them to move theirs so they can still manage it, which I do as a courtesy because it's not required by the site rules. But, I cannot follow-up for months to ensure it gets done. The report duplicate memorial option takes months and months if the requested merge is a memorial in two separate cemeteries.

If you find a memorial I have added and you accidentally have placed it somewhere else, I will gladly delete mine once yours is moved.***

I am very interested in local history and I strive to go somewhere I have never been as often as I can. This interest has led me to some places that are "off the beaten path." When I used to see small cemeteries/graveyards, I often wondered how families would be able to locate these especially if they aren't "named" cemeteries. I'm glad there is a place for memorials for these. Nonetheless, I am especially interested in locating these and the photo requests for the smaller areas that some may not be interested in or able to locate. Unfortunately, some are in such a state of disrepair, it is very hard to locate stones.
I hope to be of help to those seeking their ancestors and feel free to request a transfer of your family members if I am showing as managing it. Just because I "found" and photographed their stone, certainly doesn't mean I "own" it. I have a hard time understanding why people on here are so possessive about a memorial they added and its not even their family. So much drama on a website intended to be helpful.
Feel free to contact me if I can help you with locating a cemetery or help with piecing together any information you have trouble finding, in any of the counties in SW Virginia. I would much rather do the photos, finding, etc than enter memorials from a list (but, I am grateful for those that will enter them) AND please feel free to use any photos for your ancestry.
If I have added a memorial or photo of your loved one, please know I do it only to create a lasting memory of that person that present and future generations can visit to find their ancestors and pay their respects, as they may not be able to do so in person.
One last note:
*** Please don't send photo volunteers on a wild goose chase unless you tell them that in advance. Contact me and I will gladly attempt to locate something but as someone who really enjoys fulfilling the requests, there is nothing more frustrating than someone adding memorials to a cemetery when they have no proof they are buried there, then requests photos. I don't think memorials should be added to a cemetery because you think they should be there. This is a site intended to "find" a grave, not guess a grave. Also, if there is a photo of their stone, and its a good photo, please don't request another one.
