My wife and I will soon celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We have two sons and four grandchildren. Our sons married late and our oldest grandchild is only in kindergarten. Late last year, I started gathering information for their family trees; my legacy to them.

Shortly after beginning my genealogy journey, I discovered Find-A-Grave and found some, but not that many, of my ancestors. I eventually grasped the concept… I have all the information, birth and death dates, spouse, children, cemetery, etc. It is my responsibility to create their memorials and visit and photograph their grave markers, not someone else's.

When our grandchildren are older and can appreciate their rich heritage, I hope they will join PopPop on fieldtrips to the library and cemeteries… as part of their legacy to their grandchildren.

The memorials I add are all members of mine and my wife's extended families. Please contact me directly to request a memorial's transfer. I would like to exchange genealogical information on our respective branches of the family tree.
