I'm a native Texan, wife, mother, and freelance writer and journalist. I have a journalism and history degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where I first got the genealogy bug over 30 years ago. During one of my history classes my professor assigned us to write a family history for our final project. Learning that my own ancestors lived through the events I studied in history really made it come alive. I also found that my journalism investigative reporting skills help a lot with genealogy research.
