Bio

Around the age of 10 I went on a completely BORING trip to Nova Scotia with my parents, sister, and my mom's parents. There we visited cemeteries, the Turner home in New Minas, and in search of old records. I had zero interest in genealogy.

I'd love to go back and do it all again. Genealogy is an almost daily hobby for me now. Thankfully, my parents accomplished a lot of work the hard/old-fashioned way. Now with the ease of technology and various resources, I'm able to add to that.

Some of the surnames of my Nova Scotia ancestors include: Harris, Forbes, Turner, Seeley, Dodge, Stevens, Huntington, and Miner.

My brick-walls are on my Schafer and Lambert lines. Joseph W. Schafer who came to Trenton, New Jersey in 1881 from Germany. Thomas Lambert, a ship builder who settled in Edgecomb, Maine who was either from Boston, Mass or Martha's Vineyard. Family oral history indicates his father was a member of the Boston Tea Party, and perhaps why we don't know his identity.

Find-A-Grave is an awesome resource as well as www.genealogybank.com

I'm happy to help others in their research.
