Bio

Katherine (KC) Graves Cox Thacker. I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and moved to Homosassa, FL in 1980. In 2001 my husband and I moved to Goodyear, Arizona where we lived for 10 years before returning to Homosassa, FL. I discovered genealogy in the late 1990's when I became curious about my family's ancestors. I began with my BAKER ancestors, whom to my surprise were among the first 40 settlers in the Brooksville, Florida area just 20 miles away from my home at the time. After collecting data, going to cemeteries, interviewing relatives, and spending countless hours in libraries and courthouses, I wrote a history on the Bakers. Now I'm hooked on genealogy and I keep digging!

For those who are related to me on the southern side, we qualify for a Florida Pioneer Descendant's Certificate, from The Florida State Genealogical Society through our BAKER and COLSON ancestors. For those who are related to me on my northern side, we qualify for DAR or SAR membership through patriot Leonard GRAVES, and the Illinois Prairie Pioneer Certificate, Category 2, from the Illinois State Genealogical Society through our COOK, GRAVES and HIESTAND ancestors.

Please feel free to contact me with corrections, updated information, photos, etc. I also welcome requests to transfer memorials of family members.

If you have any questions, or I can help you in any way in your research, I may be contacted at [email protected].

Researching primarily BAKER, BOURDEAUX, BUSH, COLSON, COOK, COX, DAMRON, DELL, FERGUSON, GRAVES, GRISAMER, HAMPTON, HIESTAND, LENZ, O'NEAL, SANDERS, SASSARD, SOLBERG, THACKER, TURNER and WATSON among lots of off shoots.
