I am a daughter of Mearl Harris & Carolyn Renshaw, and a 5x great granddaughter of William Harris & Sarah Lyon. William Harris was a Revolutionary War Soldier in the Commander-in-Chiefs Guards. He was born in Culpeper VA in 1752, migrated to Elkin NC where he died in 1848. My direct line from William was his son Squire Harris (Miriam Phillips), who left Wilkes County NC & migrated to Russell County VA, then Carter County KY. His son John Harris (Nancy Catherine Lark) was born in Russell County VA and died in Carter County KY. John's son was George Harris (Julia McGuire) and was born in Carter County KY, then went to Kanawha County WV, and later moved to Meigs County OH where he died in 1924. George's son Frank Harris (Alma Voiers & Leoda Samples) stayed in Kanawha County WV and died there. He was my grandfather. I am seeking graves & info of anyone with a family connection. Please contact me if you have any info or suspect that we are related. My mother was a Renshaw from Meigs County OH. Her father was George whose father migrated there from Preston County WV. My mom's mother was a Diehl whose father was born in Bavaria Germany but came to Meigs County with his family at the age of 4. Many of the Diehl's stayed in Meigs County and are buried there. Many of the graves I have listed on this site are not my relatives. I'm always happy to transfer management to a family member, just ask me!
