Bio

I come from a family of Monument people going back to my Great Grandfather James Stewart and coming forward to my own father G. A. Stewart Jr. Many of the monuments in several counties of Kansas and Nebraska were done by these family members. So you could say I grew up roaming cemeteries with my parents. I also am a member of the Brockmeyer and Hollenberg families on my maternal side who were there at the start of Washington county, Hanover and Hollenberg and Hollenberg [Cottonwood] Station my Gr Grandfather Frederick Brockmeyer Sr's sister Gr Aunt Sophia married G. H. Hollenberg who was one of the founders of that area along with Frederick Sr. Then there was Leseberg on my Grandmother's side. On the paternal side my families are Barnum, Seth Barnum my 3Gr Grandfather who was instrumental in founding Hiawatha KS, yes a distant cousin of P.T. Barnum the showman, Whaley, and Sutley's who go back to the Revolutionary War with proof of this so I could be a member of the DAR. Now with some more research we have discovered that the Whaleys go back to the Mayflower and Issac Allerton who was the eighth person to sign the Mayflower compact before leaving the Mayflower. I am not interested in joining clubs but for those who want it in their life it is all there. My oldest daughter has joined both. She is a business women and I think this kind of information helps her in her associations. And then the history of this same family goes to Oliver Cromwell as a cousin. His cousin from his Father's brother was married to a Whaley. History is important to me so I have kept the records that were entrusted to me by the families and have written books on many of these families. Now I am sharing the information on Find A Grave for my descendants and other interested people.
