Bio

It is exciting to be a part of this online community. The quantity of information is quickly surpassing what is found in local historical societies and genealogy groups.

This is a way to honor our ancestors in the BOWEN-DOUGLAS-HINSHAW families by helping others connect and learn about their own family histories.

Feel free to use any of our marker photos, and should you wish to delete any pictures from us posted to your memorials, please let us know; we are only trying to help in documentation.

Our great-great-great grandfather, John A Bowen (1808), was a founder of the Pleasant View Church (1836) in Boone County IN. Most of the Bowens buried in the cemetery are his descendants or his brother, Sampson's. A huge thanks to all of you that photograph grave markers or transcribe obituaries for people you don't even know so that families can connect to tell the story for those who can no longer speak for themselves.
