After retiring, I started searching my family history as a hobby, and it soon became addicting. I also was amazed at the amount of history in New York State that I had forgotten about from my school years. I joined the DAR, and invested my time in going on local Revolutionary War tours, and cemetery tours. I had used Find A Grave many times in my research and had known that not every ancestor is noted nor grave photo is shown. I checked my community on the website and found many, many requests for photos. I knew this would be another hobby for me, and would help others searching for gravestones like I had searched!
