Emma Henson Canady/Kanaday place of burial has been found! We are searching not to see if there is a plot but I have purchased a plot in the Sligo Missouri Cemetery! Never give up on your search. My family has searched for Emma's grave for over 5 generations. The Sligo Cemetery has Sligo Fest once a year in March it was wonderful to meet many of my relatives and share pictures and stories. The search for her grave has been one full of tears and joy! Meeting all the wonderful people in Sligo Missouri on March 19, 2016 was a joy indeed. Emma Henson was born in Marion MO to Simeon Walker Henson and Mary Priest. When her father died my great great grandfather Ed and his wife "Nettie"(Emma's sister) took her in and Ed had gaurdianship of Emma when he signed for her to marry my great grandfather Joseph Franklin Canady, Cannaday, Canaday, Cannady,Kanady, Kanaday, Canada, Kanada. With the help of Aunt Lora who has been searching for information on her sisters burial and searched for over 70 years with her sister and other family members and lots of prayers the search is almost over! Hope this helps others in your search for it is up to us to keep our family stories alive in the our spirit and the spirit of our children and for many generations to come.
