I was born at home in Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana on 26 Oct. 1937. I was the third child of Charles Dwight Bridge and Berniece Regina (Hershberger) Bridge. They divorced in 1945 and each remarried that same year. Dwight had one child by his second marriage, divorced again and remarried. I enlisted in the US Navy on 27 Oct. 1954 and after 2 periods when I left the Navy, I finally reached 20 years of active duty and retired on 17 Dec. 1979 as a Chief Petțy Officer(NCCSS).I served on a Light Cruiser (CL-83), 2 WW II type Submarines (SS-398 and (SS-331) a Nuclear, Polaris Ballistic Missile Submarine (SSBN-622), I then spent three and a half years as an Instructor at the Guided Missile School at Dam Neck, Va. Beach, Va. Then a Submarine Repair ship (AS-31) and a Amphibious Assault ship (LPD-4). I also served as a Navy Recruiter in Fort Wayne, Indiana and as a Staff & Squadron Career Counselor for a Destroyer Squadron (COMDESRON-22) and Service Squadron (COMSERVRON EIGHT) in Nolfolk, tVirginia) 2nd wife returned to Indiana in June of 1996 and I returned to Fishers, Indiana in Oct. 1996.
