I have forever been a fan of preserving history and have always been interested in genealogy. Each person beneath a headstone lived a life as real and as important as any one of us alive today. Everyone has a story and unfortunately, much of it has been lost to time. Since I was a small child working side by side in the cemetery in Fort Jones, California with my grandfather while he carefully plucked the weeds from his parents graves, I have been aware of those who came before us. We are all connected, whether alive or departed and I think it is important to remember that, and to remember and honor them. Without them, we wouldn't be here.
