My father was from McNairy TN and my mother from Scottsboro AL. But I entered the world far away... in California. I'm trying to discover my family origins and in the process am thrilled when I can offer a bit of information, or a photograph, to other seekers. I appreciate the kindness and generosity of the volunteers of this website, and have been inspired to spend many adventurous days where I live in Douglas County WA performing such service for other families. I'm grateful for the many who have given me leads and encouragement and will continue to "pay it forward." It's a good feeling to reunite these families, even if they are strangers, because now I know first hand how that feels.
